Abstract
Mit einer neuen seismologischen Methode, die natürliche Quellen seismischer Energie benutzt, ist es gelungen, Strukturen in der gesamten Lithosphäre und im oberen Erdmantel von Tibet abzubilden. Deren Interpretation ermöglicht es, die geologische Geschichte der Kollision des indischen Subkontinentes mit dem eurasischen Kontinent aufzuklären.
