Abstract:
Global seismic network is one of important infrastructures for seismological study, general earth monitoring and tsunami early warning. Pacific21(network code: PS) is a semi-global seismic network that covers region of the western Pacific and the eastern to south-eastern Asia. From 2003, most station has data communication line and all data is telemetered to data canter. These data are distributed to general researchers via our data center and IRIS website. Real-time data transmission service contributes some institutes has responsibility of earthquake and tsunami monitoring. In this poster, we will report the review the last 20 years activities of Pacific21 network. One topics is that precious barometers are collocated with broadband sensors. The both sensor records the coupling phenomenon on site between the atmosphere and earth ground. Especially Hunga-Tonga eruption caused not only remarkable pressure variation but also simultaneous ground response. The other topics is that network spreads in the Caroline islands including temporal stations. The main purpose was cooperated observation with ocean bottom seismic sensors. According to the new stations, the sensitivity of earthquake detection in the western Caroline islands is higher including local event in the old oceanic plate.
