Saudi Arabia National special Reference System (SANSRS) is a consistent reference system that defines Cartesian coordinates, longitude, latitude, height, scale, gravity and orientation throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By using SANSRS, users can define/specify their location precisely through the entire Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and study the temporal changes in the Earth and its gravity field in space and time. This system has been established for economic, social and environmental needs and all Geospatial applications uses. In addition, SANSRS was published in 2021 and authorized to be the official reference system for all geospatial products, services and activities in Saudi Arabia. It consist of three components in 3 dimensions defined as Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Geodetic Reference Frame (KSA-GRF17), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Vertical Reference Frame (KSA-VRF14) and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Geoid Model (KSA-GEOID21).KSA-GEOID21 is the latest geoid model in KSA and has been recently released officially by General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA). The new geoid model has been determined by the combination of land & ship-borne pointwise data together with GEOSA GPS levelling data, airborne gravity and satellite altimetry gridded data to cover the entire the Kingdom with a consistent accuracy. Orthometric heights for every points over KSA can be determined by using KSA-GEOID21 model with an average accuracy better than 2cm, along leveling lines together with GNSS ellipsoidal height.
