Abstract
In light of recent GNSS estimates of the pole coordinates at hourly resolution by Cheng et al (2023), we revisit the problem of the subdiurnal excitation of the polar motion through the mass redistribution within the atmosphere and the oceans. The modelled atmospheric and oceanic angular momentum as computed by GFZ is compared to the geodetic excitation derived from the results of Cheng et al (2023).
