Abstract
Climate-induced changes in oceanic biogeochemical processes in six coastal regions of the tropical and south Atlantic, characterized by high chlorophyll-a (CHL) levels, are analyzed using historical in-situ observations, satellite and reanalysis data, and numerical simulations from the Norwegian Climate Prediction Model (NorCPM). The objectives of this analysis are to identify the oceanographic processes that drive the CHL in observational data and in the NorCPM outputs, define the common drivers in both datasets, evaluate their future projections, and ultimately to propose changes in the model to improve the biogeochemical variables. This improvement will allow better representations and projections of upper trophic levels like regional fisheries.
