要旨
The majority of ice sheet mass loss projections conducted under the Ice Sheet Model Intercomparison Project for CMIP6 (ISMIP6) were done with standalone ice sheet models. However, a protocol was also designed to look at Greenland mass loss for the few Earth System Models participating in CMIP6 that had interactive ice sheet components or were developing that capability.A small but growing number of CMIP6 Earth System Models are producing simulations following that protocol. Here we present results from three of them together (CESM2-CISM2, UKESM-BISICLES, NorESM2-CISM2). We discuss processes and timescales of ice–climate coupling, the simulated impact of GrIS changes on the Greenland climate and the wider climate system (i.e., feedbacks), as well as our diverse approaches to initialisation and other modelling choices.
